Hollywood Smile describes different appearance-related dental procedures; it is not a standard diagnosis or a uniform treatment package. Preservation of healthy tooth tissue and whether treatment is needed should be assessed.
Methods Used for a Hollywood Smile
Every patient has a different dental structure and different expectations. For this reason, at Mustafa Saatçi Oral and Dental Health Polyclinic, we do not apply a single standard treatment; we select the material best suited to your needs.
1. Porcelain Laminate Veneers
These are ultra-thin porcelain shells, approximately 0.3–0.7 mm thick, bonded only to the front surfaces of the teeth.
- Veneer preparation: Tooth reduction depends on position and the planned restoration. No-preparation veneers are not suitable for everyone; removed natural tissue does not grow back.
2. All-Ceramic Restorations
These metal-free restorations are made from reinforced glass ceramic.
3. Zirconia Crowns
Zirconia is a ceramic used in different dental restorations.
- Material selection: Translucency, strength, remaining tooth structure and bite are assessed together.
The Hollywood Smile Process, Step by Step
Step 1: Digital Planning and Analysis
At your first appointment, high-resolution photographs and digital impressions are taken. Your facial features are analyzed, and the tooth shape most suitable for you is designed digitally using Digital Smile Design (DSD) technology.
Step 2: The "Mock-Up" Preview Session
A temporary mock-up may help discuss shape and size when suitable. It is not an exact or certain representation of the treatment result.
Step 3: Preparation and Production
Preparation varies with the restoration. Impressions are taken, and temporary restorations may be used if needed during the waiting period.
4. Fit Checks and Placement
Fit, colour and bite are checked. Restorations are placed after necessary adjustments; total time varies with the individual plan.
How Long Does a Hollywood Smile Last? Care Recommendations
Restoration longevity depends on material, hygiene, bite and habits. Repair or replacement may be needed; a fixed number of years or permanent whiteness cannot be promised.
- Brush twice a day and floss regularly.
- Do not use your teeth to crack hard-shelled foods such as hazelnuts or walnuts.
- Set review intervals with your dentist according to individual decay, gum and restoration risks.
- Before deciding: Whitening, composite changes, orthodontics or no intervention may be compared according to findings.
