2. Surgical Procedure: Implant Placement
Implant placement is commonly performed under local anaesthesia to control pain. Tell your dentist if you feel discomfort. Duration varies with the procedure’s extent.
3. Healing Period (Osseointegration)
Integration with bone commonly takes months. Healing and loading time are determined at reviews according to bone condition and procedures performed.
4. Prosthetic Stage
After healing and stability are assessed, the connection and planned prosthetic stages proceed. Fit, bite and cleanability are checked; appearance and function depend on individual findings.
Recovery and Care After Implant Placement
Your comfort after the procedure is one of our priorities. The following recommendations can support healing:
Nutrition: During the first few days, avoid very hot or very cold foods and choose softer foods.
Oral Hygiene: Avoid brushing directly over the surgical area on the first day. Afterward, maintain hygiene using a soft toothbrush and any mouth rinse recommended by your dentist.
Smoking: Smoking may impair healing and long-term implant health. Discuss cessation support and individual advice with your clinician; the risk is not limited to the first week.
Potential Complications and Their Management
Infection, failure to integrate with bone, damage to surrounding structures and prosthetic problems can occur. Peri-implant disease may also develop later. Care and reviews help manage risk; no success percentage or trouble-free use is promised.
