Do not judge colour only from a photograph immediately afterwards; comparison at the recommended review, in similar lighting, is more useful. Report pre-existing sensitivity before starting. If a home product is supplied, obtain written instructions and do not layer different products. A single dark tooth or an area that does not respond needs its cause investigated rather than repeated whitening without reassessment.
